RENDE. E’ stato intitolato a Beniamino Andreatta, economista e politico e primo rettore dell’Università della Calabria, il ponte, sulla strada ex 19 bis, che collega le città di Rende a Cosenza. La manifestazione ha coinciso con l’avvio delle celebrazioni per il cinquantesimo anniversario della legge istitutiva dell’ateneo. “Oggi, guardando al passato – ha detto il rettore dell’ateneo, Gino Mirocle Crisci a margine della cerimonia – facciamo il punto sul futuro dell’università della Calabria. È una festa, quella che abbiamo organizzato, in onore di tutte quelle persone che hanno creduto in questo modello e lo hanno reso grande, nonostante le difficoltà, soprattutto in una realtà come questa. Siamo arrivati a buon punto negli ultimi tempi, anche con l’aiuto della Regione. Ora siamo in una situazione buona. In altri termini, potremmo dire che i fondamentali li abbiamo buoni”. Il programma di eventi organizzati dall’università prevede, anche una mostra nel foyer del Teatro auditorium dell’università di una selezione dei progetti che parteciparono al concorso internazionale per la realizzazione della sede universitaria. Sarà anche in programma la presentazione del volume “È stata tutta luce”, di Giana Petronio Andreatta, vedova di Beniamino; la proiezione di tutti i video e la premiazione dei tre studenti vincitori del contest “Unical Movie Challenge” e l’intervista, a cura di Luca Ponzi, caporedattore della Tgr Calabria della Rai, a vecchi e nuovi laureati, con interventi musicali live degli Avion Travel. Infine è prevista la presentazione dei nuovi cinema dell’Unical, ubicati sotto il Teatro auditorium, con le proiezioni di una selezione di film dagli anni ‘60 ad oggi.
