CROTONE. Beni immobili e disponibilità finanziarie per un valore di oltre 10 milioni di euro sono stati confiscati dai finanzieri del Comando provinciale di Crotone a carico di Natale Garofalo, imprenditore ritenuto dagli investigatori in affari con la ‘ndrangheta crotonese. L’operazione è stata denominata “Lea”, in ricordo di Lea Garofalo, la testimone di giustizia uccisa dalla ‘ndrangheta nel 2009 e le cui dichiarazioni sono state utilizzate anche nell’indagine che ha portato alla confisca. Il provvedimento, emesso dal Tribunale di Catanzaro – Sezione misure di prevenzione su richiesta della Dda catanzarese – ha riguardato quattro aziende operanti nel settore edile, situate a Petilia Policastro e Crotone, un immobile nel milanese, sede amministrativa di un’attività economica pure confiscata, oltre a rapporti bancari, cassette di sicurezza, titoli, libretti di risparmio, buoni fruttiferi intestati all’imprenditore ed alla moglie Maria Cardamone.
La confisca è giunta a conclusione di indagini patrimoniali coordinate dal procuratore della Repubblica di Catanzaro Nicola Gratteri e dal sostituto procuratore della Dda Domenico Guarascio e condotte dal Gruppo della Guardia di finanza di Crotone. L’attività è stata posta in essere ai sensi della normativa antimafia che prevede l’applicazione delle misure di prevenzione a carico di soggetti ritenuti, sulla base di elementi di fatto, abitualmente dediti a traffici delittuosi, o che per la loro condotta ed il loro tenore di vita, si ritenga vivano con proventi di attività illecite. Da qui il provvedimento eseguito dai finanzieri crotonesi diretti dal comandante provinciale col Emilio Fiora a cui si è giunti con le indagini de Gruppo comandato dal cap. Michele Filomena, condotte con accertamenti bancari, approfondimenti di operazioni sospette e un capillare controllo economico del territorio effettuato con pedinamenti, osservazioni e l’incrocio delle informazioni acquisite con i dati rilevati dalle banche dati del Corpo.
