“Con Zingaretti è stato amore a prima vista, ci siamo capiti subito: e ora vogliamo liberare la Calabria dalle vecchie pastoie”. Lo ha affermato l’imprenditore Pippo Callipo, candidato alla presidenza della Regione per il centrosinistra, nel corso di una conferenza stampa a Lamezia Terme con il segretario del Pd, Nicola Zingaretti, e i candidati democrat al Consiglio regionale. “Il nostro obiettivo – ha spiegato Callipo – non è semplicemente il cambiamento ma è una rivoluzione, perché la rivoluzione richiede tempi veloci, e noi sin dall’1 febbraio dobbiamo cambiare le cose, i calabresi vogliono questo. I calabresi non vogliono più andare a bussare al politico o al notabile di turno per avere un suo diritto garantito dalla Costituzione. Con le elezioni – ha quindi aggiunto il candidato governatore – abbiamo un’occasione enorme, per il bene dei calabresi e dei loro figli. Non bisogna più dare la preferenza a chi considera i calabresi come voti in un cassetto, personalmente ho rifiutato gente con pacchetti di 4-5mila voti perché dobbiamo liberare i calabresi da queste pastoie”. “Il cuore della battaglia in Calabria è che è una battaglia per la libertà”, ha affermato dal canto suo il segretario del Pd, Nicola Zingaretti. “Dove non c’è possibilità di scelta – ha proseguito Zingaretti – non c’è libertà, e dopo tanti anni non possiamo avere pezzi di Italia in cui non c’è libertà. E’ una grande battaglia che va oltre, molto oltre l’appartenenza politica e partitica e va al cuore del futuro dei calabresi”.
