I prossimi sette anni “disegneranno il futuro della Calabria”. Così il presidente della Regione, Jole Santelli, ha definito l’evento “Il Futuro è Calabria”, l’evento in corso nella sede della Giunta a Catanzaro che di fatto dà l’avvio alla programmazione delle risorse comunitarie 2021-2027.
“Sono circa 2,5 miliardi e mezzo di fondi comunitari, e una stessa cifra di fondi nazionali”, ha specificato Santelli parlando con i giornalisti a margine dell’evento. “Oggi – ha aggiunto il presidente della Giunta – incontriamo i sindaci e gli amministratori locali, consiglieri regionali e parlamentari, sono presenti tutti i partiti politici, domani faremo un approfondimento tecnico sui vari settori. E’ un momento indispensabile, propedeutico alla programmazione, perché sono i sette anni che disegneranno il futuro della Calabria, e questo dev’essere un metodo: non un momento formale ma – ha evidenziato Santelli – un momento in cui recuperare idee, sinergie, incontri, e scrivere possibilmente a più mani il futuro di questa regione. Saranno presi i contributi di tutti, chiunque pensa al bene della Calabria ha il dovere di fornire contributi, e noi abbiamo il dovere di ascoltare e discutere”.
Quanto alle priorità della nuova programmazione dei fondi comunitari, la Santelli ha osservato che “bisogna puntare sulle scelte, perché limite della Calabria è sempre stato il non scegliere. Dobbiamo puntare sulle scelte, su una Calabria che, per quanto riguarda la Giunta sarà green, quindi noi vogliamo giocare molto sulla carta verde che abbiamo a disposizione e che è molto importante nel progetto europeo, poi puntare sull’attrazione degli investimenti e sullo sviluppo delle aree rurali perché uno dei problemi seri che abbiamo è lo spopolamento. Questi – ha rilevato il presidente della Regione – sono gli obiettivi fondamentali. Poi, l’occupazione, un tema trasversale. Se si sviluppa un sistema di imprenditoria, una formazione importante anche con le Università ma anche una formazione dedicata alle imprese, è chiaro che avremo posti di lavoro: non credo che esistano posti di lavoro dati per legge. Il tema fondamentale – ha quindi spiegato Santelli – resta la reputazione della regione fuori e la fiducia della regione dentro”.
Santelli ha quindi evidenziato: “Abbiamo avuto sempre problemi di spesa, non è facile spendere. Dobbiamo snellire, già dalla Commissione europea dobbiamo cercare di ottenere procedure più snelle, abbiamo già richiesto al Dipartimento competente e al ministro Provenzano che a livello italiano l’Italia non gravi ulteriormente con altre misure, e addirittura siamo arrivati al punto che anche la Regione Calabria ha gravato le procedure, invece bisogna andare verso una sburocratizzazione. La spesa dei soldi è un problema atavico del Sud e dell’Italia, ce l’ha anche la Regione Calabria, però adesso guardiamo avanti”
