REGGIO CALABRIA. Circa 300 precari dei Vigili del fuoco di Calabria e Sicilia hanno manifestato davanti alla sede del Comando provinciale del Corpo di Reggio Calabria in concomitanza con la visita del sottosegretario all’Interno con delega ai Vigili del fuoco, Gianpiero Bocci. “Una protesta – ha detto Bocci – è sempre giusta. Quando si rivendica lavoro è sempre legittima: ci sono famiglie, ci sono aspettative, ci sono giovani. Persone che hanno la loro dignità. La protesta è un fatto di democrazia. Il capo del dipartimento, prefetto Francesco Musolino sta incontrando una delegazione di questi lavoratori. Ma con molta onestà devo ricordare che solo nell’ultimo anno abbiamo assunto circa 3000 nuovi vigili del fuoco. Mille come risultato del turnover e duemila attraverso un provvedimento straordinario”. “Lo sforzo che è stato fatto – ha aggiunto Bocci – è uno sforzo storico. Nessun altro Corpo dello Stato ha fatto così tanto. E in questo grande sforzo che abbiamo fatto, una buona parte è servita per stabilizzare precari. Lo Stato non può creare precari. Lo Stato deve creare lavoratori: persone che hanno la certezza del lavoro, non l’attesa di una chiamata ogni tanto. Lo sforzo che proveremo a fare nei prossimi mesi da un lato tenderà a dare una risposta a questi lavoratori, ma anche dare la possibilità a molti giovani di non partire sconfitti partecipando ad un concorso. Non possiamo continuare a far entrare nel Corpo dei Vigili del fuoco persone di 45-46 anni. Questo è un altro lavoro. Ci sarà attenzione per stabilizzare alcuni dei tanti precari, che sono alcune centinaia di migliaia in tutta Italia ma anche giovani. Non sarà semplice, ma lo sforzo sarà questo”.
