CATANZARO. “Quello che emerge è uno spaccato nazionale e transnazionale, dal momento che coinvolge anche diversi stranieri nel giro di scommesse”. Lo ha detto il procuratore capo di Catanzaro, Vincenzo Antonio Lombardo, intervistato per la maxi operazione contro il calcio scommesse portata a termine dalla squadra Mobile di Catanzaro e coordinata proprio dalla Dda di Catanzaro. Lombardo ha evidenziato che alcune delle persone straniere destinatarie del fermo sono riuscite a sfuggire all’arresto: “Si tratta di tre serbi e due maltesi – ha affermato – che si trovano all’estero. Tra le persone fermate c’è invece un cittadino albanese accusato anche di sequestro di persona. Quando, infatti, le partite non finivano con il risultato concordato – ha spiegato Lombardo – scoppiavano grosse liti tra finanziatori e dirigenti delle società. Una di queste è finita proprio con il sequestro di un manager”.
