Una buona Reggina blocca sul pari il Siracusa che era reduce da più vittorie consecutive che l’avevano lanciata in zona playoff. Contro una squadra in gran forma, gli amaranto si ritrovano e dimostrano di non essere quelli visti una settimana fa contro la Vibonese. Zeman lancia in avanti Bianchimano con Coralli ed il centravanti di scuola Milan fa capire di esserci anche se fallisce una grossa occasione a tu per tu con Santurro al 12’, il portiere siculo sventa in tuffo una colossale occasione per la squadra calabrese. Ma la Reggina graffia ugualmente al 38’ con Marco Cane innescato splendidamente da un lancio chirurgico di De Francesco. L’esterno ex vigorino trasforma il suggerimento nel vantaggio reggino con un destro letale che si spegne sul primo palo. Ma il vantaggio dura poco, infatti la reazione aretusea si concretizza nel pareggio dopo soli 5’. Valente serve Diakite il quale a sua volta lancia Longoni, e l’argentino colpisce ancora una volta la Reggina, 3 reti nelle ultime 3 gare agli amaranto. Il secondo tempo non è frizzante quanto il primo e le occasioni da rete scarseggiano. Scardina e Catania da una parte e Coralli e Bianchimano dall’altra in ogni caso si rendono pericolosi. Alla fine è giusto il pari che consolida i siciliani in zona playoff. Per la Reggina ossigeno e morale in vista del durissimo minicampionato che inizia per sperare nella salvezza. Già sabato contro il Melfi non si può e non si deve fallire.
