REGGIO CALABRIA. Associazione di tipo mafioso, estorsione, illecita concorrenza con violenza o minaccia e danneggiamento, aggravati dal metodo o delle finalità mafiose e induzione indebita a dare o promettere utilità. Questi i reati contestati a vario titolo a 13 persone coinvolte in un’operazione scattata giovedì mattina in varie località del territorio nazionale ed eseguita dai Carabinieri di Reggio Calabria, in esecuzione di un’ordinanza di applicazione di misura cautelare. Le attività investigative, coordinate dalla Direzione Distrettuale Antimafia di Reggio Calabria, avrebbero permesso di accertare la sistematica infiltrazione delle cosche calabresi nei lavori necessari alla realizzazione dei parchi eolici nelle province di Reggio Calabria, Catanzaro, Crotone e Vibo Valentia. Nel corso delle indagini sono stati documentati numerosi episodi estorsivi ai danni delle aziende committenti, perfezionati grazie all’apporto di imprese colluse con le compagini mafiose egemoni sulle aree in cui sono state realizzate le opere.
C’è anche il sindaco di Cortale, Francesco Scalfaro, di 59 anni, fra le persone arrestate giovedì dai Carabinieri del comando provinciale di Reggio Calabria, nell’ambito dell’operazione “Via col vento”, su infiltrazioni della ‘ndrangheta nel settore dell’eolico. Oltre al sindaco sono stati arrestati 6 imprenditori e sono state sequestrate 6 imprese per un valore di 42 milioni di euro. A Scalfaro, eletto con una lista civica, sono stati concessi i domiciliari.
Nel marzo scorso il primo cittadino di Cortale aveva subito un’intimidazione ad opera di ignoti che avevano lasciato appesa al cancello della sua villa una busta contenente un ordigno esplosivo.
Hanno fatto luce su numerosi episodi estorsivi, sia in danno delle società multinazionali impegnate nella realizzazione dei parchi (Gamesa, Vestas, Nordex) e sia delle imprese appaltatrici, non colluse, le indagini dell’operazione “Via col vento”, coordinata dalla Dda di Reggio Calabria, e che hanno portato all’arresto di 13 persone. Dalle indagini è emerso che le aziende multinazionali, sottostavano all’imposizione del “pizzo” liquidando alle ditte segnalate da Evalto compensi per prestazioni sovrafatturate o mai eseguite mentre le imprese appaltatrici erano costrette a corrispondere una percentuale sull’importo delle opere da eseguire e, talvolta, anche a garantire l’esecuzione di lavori commissionati alle ditte mafiose, alle quali le imprese appaltanti versavano il corrispettivo economico. L’indagine del Nucleo investigativo dei carabinieri di Reggio Calabria, che ha portato ai 13 arresti di oggi, è stata avviata nel 2012 con il coordinamento del Procuratore Aggiunto Giuseppe Lombardo e dei Sostituti Procuratori Antonio De Bernardo (oggi alla Dda di Catanzaro), Giovanni Calamita e Antonella Crisafulli e che ha accertato la sistematica infiltrazione, da parte di alcune blasonate cosche della ‘ndrangheta, nel complesso delle opere necessarie alla realizzazione dei parchi eolici nelle province di Reggio, Catanzaro, Crotone e Vibo Valentia. In particolare è emerso il condizionamento esercitato dalle cosche “Paviglianiti” di San Lorenzo e Bagaladi, “Mancuso” di Limbadi, “Trapasso” di Cutro e “Anello” di Filadelfia. Collettore sarebbe stato Giuseppe Evalto, imprenditore del settore trasporti ritenuto affiliato al clan Mancuso. Gli impianti su cui si sono focalizzate le attenzioni degli investigatori sono quelli di Piani di Lopa-Campi di Sant’Antonio, nel reggino, il parco eolico di Amaroni (Catanzaro), San Biagio e Cutro (Crotone). In carcere sono finiti Giuseppe Evalto, di 55 anni; Antonino Paviglianiti (53); Rocco Anello (57); Giuseppe Errico (64); Romeo Ielapi (46); Pantaleone Mancuso (57) e Giovanni Trapasso (70) mentre ai domiciliari: Domenico Fedele D’Agostino (60); Francesco Scalfaro(59); Riccardo Di Palma (46); Mario Fuoco Mario (67); Giovanni Giardino (46) e Mario Scognamiglio (41).
