“Dopo una lunga discussione, ho deciso che quest’anno mettiamo i soldi per fare l’alta capacità Reggio Calabria-Salerno”. Lo ha reso noto il ministro delle Infrastrutture, Paola De Micheli, nel corso di una conferenza stampa a Catanzaro. “Quindi – ha aggiunto De Micheli – oltre agli interventi già previsti da Rfi per il miglioramento della sicurezza e il raddoppio dei binari laddove non c’è ancora il raddoppio, finanzieremo a partire dal 2020 la progettazione, dal 2021 la realizzazione dell’alta capacità Reggio Calabria-Salerno, per una cifra complessiva di tre miliardi, per completare i corridoi mediterranei e soprattutto e per garantire alla Calabria gli stessi tempi di spostamento alla Calabria delle altre regioni. Vi confermo – ha quindi osservato il ministro delle Infrastrutture – che a giugno 2020 partiranno due nuovi treni verso Nord, uno sarà il Reggio Calabria-Venezia con materiale rotabile Etr 600 e l’altro sarà il Reggio Calabria-Roma con il materiale rotabile Etr 600. Quindi, sostanzialmente Reggio Calabria-Roma verrà coperta nello stesso tempo per il quale è necessario fare Torino-Roma, a parità di chilometri lo stesso tempo”.
De Micheli poi si è nuovamente soffermata sull’alta capacità ferroviaria: “Sono andata a leggere un po’ di cose sulla Calabria e sulle infrastrutture della Calabria, e per me è insopportabile che si passino gli anni a discutere ‘la facciamo dritta, la facciamo storta’. Per una terra come questa che ha bisogno di infrastrutture bisogna che qualcuno prenda una decisione, non è che si fa dritta o si fa storta. E la decisione la prendo io, per tutti. So – ha sostenuto il ministro delle Infrastrutture – che c’è stata una grande discussione tra l’altra velocità e l’alta capacità. Io so quello che possiamo fare, non quello che si vuole promettere perché siamo in campagna elettorale. L’alta capacità si può fare mentre l’alta velocità invece riaprirebbe una lunga stagione di parole inutili e di documenti inutili: è ovvio che la lentezza del cambiamento che determinerà l’alta capacità Reggio-Roma è legata al fatto che le infrastrutture chi le decide tendenzialmente non le inaugura, ma – ha concluso De Micheli – questo non significa che non vadano decise, e quindi l’ho deciso”.
