Ancora un episodio di aggressione nell’ospedale “Jazzolino” di Vibo Valentia. Un sanitario, in servizio nel reparto malattie infettive, sarebbe stato aggredito ieri mattina da due persone, familiari di un paziente di 80 anni, residente in un comune della provincia, deceduto per le complicazioni del quadro sanitario dopo avere riportato un trauma cranico e ferite al braccio. Secondo quanto è stato riferito, il sanitario ha cercato di sottrarsi all’aggressione di due persone ma avrebbe ricevuto un colpo di stampella alla testa. Sono state le urla a richiamare l’attenzione dei presenti che hanno avvisato la polizia e la vigilanza privata, giunte sul posto poco dopo assieme al direttore sanitario, Antonio Talesa. Si tratta della seconda aggressione che si verifica in pochi giorni al nosocomio di Vibo Valentia. La settimana scorsa infatti un episodio analogo si era era verificato ai danni di una dottoressa del pronto soccorso dello stesso ospedale. “Con la seconda aggressione nel giro di una settimana a danno di medici dell’ospedale Jazzolino di Vibo Valentia si è decisamente passato il segno. Non è più tollerabile che il personale sanitario del principale presidio ospedaliero della provincia sia esposto a questo genere di rischi”. È quanto afferma, in un comunicato, il consigliere regionale Antonio Lo Schiavo. “Un ospedale ormai fatiscente – prosegue Lo Schiavo – e privo dei più elementari criteri di salvaguardia e sicurezza che mette in gravissima difficoltà chi ci lavora. A questo si aggiunga un’ormai cronica carenza di organico che costringe medici ed operatori a turni massacranti e a continui straordinari, già normalmente insostenibili ma ancor di più nella fase emergenziale del Covid. Anche questi esecrabili episodi, da condannare sempre e comunque, rappresentano l’altra faccia della medaglia di una sanità in profonda sofferenza che non è in grado di garantire il pieno compimento del diritto alla salute dei cittadini ma nemmeno di tutelare il proprio personale in termini di qualità del lavoro”. “Il presidente della Regione Roberto Occhiuto, commissario alla Sanità in Calabria – sostiene il consigliere regionale – dia un segnale concreto al territorio vibonese che da anni attende che le tante promesse formulate trovino una piena realizzazione. Non solo sul nuovo ospedale, la cui realizzazione assume sempre più i contorni di una chimera, ma anche e soprattutto nella riqualificazione dei presidi esistenti sul piano strutturale, della sicurezza e, soprattutto, dell’organico. A cominciare dall’ospedale Jazzolino dove episodi come quelli incorsi ai malcapitati medici non abbiano più a ripetersi”.
