E’ stato presentato, nella sala “Trisolini” di Palazzo Alvaro, il “Festival delle migrazioni-dal Sud al Sud” che, dal 5 all’8 dicembre prossimi, coinvolgerà sette Comuni della Città Metropolitana di Reggio Calabria con eventi culturali, seminari, dibattiti e spettacoli realizzati nell’ambito dei progetti territoriali del Sistema di Protezione Accoglienza e Integrazione. All’iniziativa, moderata da Giovanni Maiolo, presidente della Rete delle Comunità Solidali (Re.Co.Sol), hanno preso parte il sindaco metropolitano facente funzioni Carmelo Versace, Michele Conia e Salvatore Fuda, consiglieri metropolitani delegati, rispettivamente, alle Politiche dell’Immigrazione, dell’Accoglienza e della Pace ed all’Ambiente, Marina Giglietta, assessora alla Famiglia, all’Educazione ed alle Politiche Sociali del Comune di Campo Calabro, Emanuele Antonio Oliveri, assessore alle Politiche Sociali del Comune di Melicuccà, e Luigi Giuseppe de Filippis, presidente dell’Associazione Coopisa. Per il sindaco metropolitano facente funzioni, Carmelo Versace, il festival «va letto con un’accezione estremamente positiva in un momento in cui, troppo spesso, si parla di immigrazione ed accoglienza in maniera approssimativa con toni da perenne campagna elettorale». «Oltre al valore sociale che ricopre – ha aggiunto – il festival aprirà un confronto per guardare all’immigrazione come un’opportunità reale e concreta per i nostri territori”. Quindi, il consigliere metropolitano Michele Conia, sindaco di Cinquefrondi, si è detto «entusiasta» nel sostenere un’iniziativa dal forte impatto sociale che «punta anche ad evidenziare le esperienze positive di sette Comuni protagonisti di buone pratiche dell’accoglienza». Il consigliere metropolitano Salvatore Fuda, sindaco di Gioiosa Jonica, ha poi espresso le difficoltà della particolare contingenza storica: «Noi proviamo a fare accoglienza e, soprattutto, integrazione. A dire il vero, qualche Governo fa era più semplice, considerati i numerosi progetti esistenti. Adesso, sembra un pò complicato”. Nel concludere i lavori, il moderatore Giovanni Maiolo ha ringraziato don Antonino De Nisi della fondazione “Migrantes”, per la presenza e per il contributo offerto, sottolineando come «la Chiesa sia fra gli alleati più importanti nella battaglia intrapresa per aiutare le persone che fuggono da fame, guerre e carestie».
