CATANZARO. “Diciamo sì alle nuove metropolitane leggere di Cosenza e Catanzaro, auspicando però che la gestione sia affidata alle Ferrovie della Calabria”. Lo afferma il senatore Antonio Gentile. “Si tratta di opportunità di sviluppo per le aree urbane – prosegue Gentile – e di investimenti in grado di produrre ricchezza e di trascinare un settore in forte crisi, come quello della edilizia e della sua filiera. Immaginiamo che Ferrovie della Calabria, che la Regione ha salvato sottraendo 100 milioni di euro ai fondi Fas, possano essere rilanciate con una nuova guida politica competente e con un monitoraggio sulla gestione, poiché sarebbe inaccettabile che dopo il ripiano dei debiti l’azienda producesse ancora perdite”. “Su questo tema chiediamo a Oliverio di fare presto – conclude Gentile – e di considerare la grande possibilità di affidare all’azienda, ormai completamente della Regione, la gestione delle reti ferroviarie locali, che costano 80 milioni l’anno ai contribuenti con risultati davvero mediocri”.
