E’ stato prorogato di dodici mesi lo stato di emergenza in conseguenza degli eventi alluvionali verificatisi nei giorni dal 14 al 19 giugno 2018 nei territori ricadenti nei comuni di Joppolo e Nicotera, nel Vibonese, oltre che di Bagnara e Scilla nel Reggino. E’ quanto deciso dal Consiglio dei ministri, atteso che gli interventi per il superamento del contesto di criticità “sono tuttora in corso e che, quindi, l’emergenza non può ritenersi conclusa”, vista anche la nota del 1* agosto scorso con la quale il presidente della Regione Calabria, in veste di commissario delegato, ha richiesto al Governo la proroga dello stato di emergenza per i quattro comuni calabresi. La dichiarazione dello stato di emergenza è stata adottata per fronteggiare situazioni che per “intensità ed estensione richiedono l’utilizzo di mezzi e poteri straordinari”.
